We have achieved a lot together this year – and we also have ambitious plans for 2025, which we would like to give you a foretaste of now with some initial insights.

Looking back at 2024: our milestones

AI technologies

Over the course of the year, we made significant progress in the integration of artificial intelligence. By working with Averbis, we were able to integrate a classifier that automatically assigns patents to folders based on a support vector machine. This “Supervised Learning Algorithm” regularly analyzes the target folders and thus delivers ever better results. On this basis, we were also able to implement an AI relevance check, which enables more effective filtering of “relevant” patent families in your ongoing monitoring. The management of these functions has been simplified with new visual markers and the customization of confidence levels.

In addition, we have developed our own global AI patent search based on an AI model trained specifically for patents. This AI search has been fully implemented in our search and allows the hybrid use of AI and Boolean logic. We were able to release a first version in December 2024.

Workflow optimizations

After extensive analysis, a design phase and a further 1.5 years of development, we released our new workflow concept. It is characterized by more flexibility, user-friendliness and security. This unique concept supports the seamless integration of tasks and enables automatic collaboration between different departments. The dashboard has been redesigned to provide a clearer presentation of projects and tasks. In addition, the new graphical representation of workflows makes it easier to understand and discuss processes, which is particularly helpful when planning and executing projects.

Further software improvements

In addition to the AI integration and workflow optimizations, we have also made general updates that improve the user experience. These include, for example:

  • the integration of an even more comprehensive patent database, providing machine translations for more countries and further back in time to boot
  • extended support for various patent number formats
  • improved tab colors and shortcuts for intuitive navigation
  • updated patent text displays for more accurate information capture
  • the introduction of a date display for the last database update to clarify the timeliness of the data
  • new forwarding functions that improve internal communication and project management

and much more.

Outlook 2025: Our goals and good intentions

  • Further develop AI integration: We are relying on the expertise we have built up and will increasingly expand our AI functions – without additional costs or price increases for you.
  • Workflow optimizations: Based on your feedback, we will plan further improvements. Your input will be incorporated directly into our concepts to give you more control and transparency in monitoring projects.
  • Free webinars: You can look forward to free webinars in 2025. Your topic suggestions and feedback are always welcome!
  • Roadshow 2025: We are planning to organize user meetings in various cities in Germany and Austria to promote the exchange between companies and to get your feedback. We will present our new developments and show you tips and tricks for more efficient patent work.

Despite rising hardware costs, which are mainly caused by the new AI hardware, we want to make these further developments possible for you without additional costs. Our focus on acquiring new customers is also important here. We would be delighted to receive your recommendations.

Your opinion counts!

We attach great importance to your suggestions and wishes. Please take a moment to let us know so that we can respond even better to your needs.
